too early for halloween? Googly Ghouls!

On January 1st this year I was half kidding when I said it would be kind of cool to try and make a card a day.  Well, I knew I couldn't literally make a card each day with my schedule, but then thought that maybe if I made my own Christmas cards this year I might be able to make it to 366 (extra one in February).    I'm waaaay behind, but I made my 100th card today!
The funny thing is that I took out this beautiful floral paper and kept looking over at the cute new the Halloween stamp set off to the side of my desk and quickly switched gears.

I stamped the sentiment several times without reinking to get a more eerie feel.

Comfort Cafe and Paper Piercing

Just playing with some new toys - Stampin' Up! Comfort Cafe patterned paper and the fun new paper piercing templates.  I love those because they coordinate with the framelit dies.  It adds just a little something extra to a die cut shape.

Everything Eleanor and Field Flowers

Just playing around with a bunch of stamp sets today on a tag and came up with this card.  I used the flower from Everything Eleanor, the leaves and sentiment from Field Flowers, the woodgrain background stamp and the netting background stamp which I don't use enough.  I really like it and love how it adds a little bit of texture.   I also broke out my new fancy fan embossing folder for the embossing on Primrose Petals card stock.

Clean & Simple Stamping Sketch

I just stumbled upon a site called Clean & Simple Stamping and they post card sketches.  I decided to play along.  I actually made a card about 5 or so years ago that looks almost exactly like this sketch.  I'll have to dig up a photo of it.   Anyway, I got out my supplies while having my coffee and created this card for the sketch.

Again -sorry about the slightly blurry photo.  I'm not in my studio and only have my cell phone camera with me.

Stampin' Up! Perfectly Preserved Sneak Peak

Just a quick card I made for a sketch challenge using a Pagemaps June card sketch.   I used a stamp from the upcoming Perfectly Preserved Stamp set.   I'm really excited about this product suite  - there's some adorable paper and the best best part are the Framelit dies that coordinate with the stamp set.  Love.

Please excuse the bad photo - only have my cell phone right now.

stampin' up! - Reason to Smile - one set two different ways

Here are a couple of cards I made with the new Stampin' Up! set called Reason to smile which is a $5 set for July (with a $50 purchase).  I couldn't pass up a $5 set!
In the second card you can see that it's a two-step stamp set so you first stamp with the background solid stamp and then stamp over it with the detail line stamp.  I only used the detail stamp on the Thank You card and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I love how you can use this stamp set in different ways. My first card was inspired by the very talented Kristina Werner.
