For this card I wanted to incorporate the colors using ribbon and then die cut it, but believe it or not I didn't have the green color in any of my millions of ribbon spools so I thought I would combine the ribbon with washi tape. I actually really like the mix because the washi tape sits flat and the ribbon is thicker so it has more dimension with the varied thicknesses. It took me over half of my total card time just adhering the ribbon and washi tape to a scrap piece of card stock. The rest was super simple.

Lucy's Card Challenge - Day 2 and Lily Bee, Victoria Park
Today I'm sharing a card I made for Lucy's Card Challenge. This one is for Day 2 of her sketch challenge, I'm going out of order. Check out her blog - she's super talented!
That cute patterned paper from the Lily Bee, Victoria Park 6x6 pad and Bazzill Sea Salt card stock. I also broke out a new die from Memory Box and the stamp is from Mama Elephant's On Target set. I love that set, it's perfect for Valentine's Day.

10 Minute Craft Dash #11
I'm so excited to be posting my first 10 Minute Crafts Dash challenge as a Design Team member!
For this challenge, other than creating a card in under 10 minutes, is to use hearts. I decided to use the Glitz Design, Hello Friend 6"x6" paper collection which is perfect for card making. I also selected products that would be quick and easy to use. I used this washi tape for the border and this coordinating sticker sheet to the Glitz paper for the sentiment and chevron heart.
I hope you all join in and take the 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge - it's so much fun!
A few things I've learned from doing these challenges is to try and have a pretty good idea in your head before you start. Get your supplies out and ready and have a card base ready to go. One thing I've been doing for a couple of years now - when I cut an 8 1/2x11 piece card stock for a card base I fold the other half and put it in a basket. This way I have a lot of them ready to go. I try to use those before cutting new sheets.
Here's my card:

We R Memory Keepers - Winter Frost
Just a quick share today. I used the 6x6 paper pad, Winter Frost from We R Memory Keepers for this card along with a stamp set I've had for many years. I also tried the Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils for the first to color in the giraffes. The paper is a winter collection, but I thought the colors and patterns were perfect for a baby boy. I just hope my friend who I made this for doesn't see my blog before it gets to her.

I have exciting news!
The 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge was started by the very talented Paulina last year. I decided to try this because I typically take a long time to create. I thought it would be fun to see if I could really do it. Guess what? When you've got the timer going it makes you make decisions (and trust those decisions) and run with them. I've learned a lot by doing these challenges and hope you'll all play along and see how much fun it is. The next 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge starts on February 6th.
I'm so thrilled to be part of the very first 10 Minute Craft Dash Design Team :) Check out the other Designers on our team from all over the world!
